Maulana Muhammad Yaqub Khan Returns Home – ENGLAND

Maulana Muhammad Yaqub Khan after his eleven months’ stay in England as the Imam of the Shah Jahan Mosque, Woking, England returned to Lahore (W. Pakistan) on the 24th of August 1957. This was his second visit to the British Isles first being in 1921.

During his stay he has delivered about 100 lectures on Islam and the political and social life of the Muslim World at large. When asked about the progress of Islam in the West, the learned Maulana said that the western outlook about Christianity has entirely changed. They now believe in the Unity of Godhead and have realised that a sound and rational religious foundation is the only way out of this present crisis of the Western Civilization. The leading scientists, philosophers and historians have called this ”sound and rational religious foundation” as ’a great continent’ which they have yet to discover. In this connection he also quoted one of the-leading historians Mr. Toynbee who says that a new civilization is taking its birth with the impact of Islam and the western civilization.
